Billions Shall Know Brother Joseph: The Joseph Smith Papers and Latter-day Saint History

More than two decades in the making, the Joseph Smith Papers Project stands as one of the most ambitious and influential documentary editing efforts in American religious history. Billions Shall Know Brother Joseph Again celebrates the project’s remarkable contributions to Latter-day Saint scholarship and historical understanding, but this commemorative volume is more than a retrospective—it is a vision for the future. Echoing the heartfelt words of benefactor Larry H. Miller, who near the end of his life expressed his faith that “billions shall know Brother Joseph again,” this book affirms that the groundwork has now been laid for generations to engage more deeply with Joseph Smith’s life, teachings, and mission.
