Copperstitched

"In a glittering world of Guilds fueled by magic and loyalty, selling secrets is one way to get ahead-or lose your life. Saskia van Beek has spent her whole life preparing to take on her father's role as Guildmaster of the Cartographers Guild, a step that has come sooner than she expected after a mysterious illness left her father bedridden. The Cartographers Guild is one of many magical guilds operating in secret and using rendered copper made by the notoriously tight-lipped Coppersmiths Guild to craft their wears. When Saskia's father's health suffers a blow the doctor suspects is poison, Saskia is thrust into the spotlight. When the Coppersmiths offer Saskia an antidote for the hefty price of her Guild's most guarded secret, she must unravel her father's involvement with the shadowy group and the rapidly expanding construction work polluting the city. With only her distractingly charming childhood friend Nicholas to help, Saskia sets off to find the antidote before the clock runs out on her father's life-or before the Coppersmiths decide she must take up more than just the title of Guildmaster to atone for her father's sins"-- Provided by publisher.
