Dead Drop (Rogue Warrior Thrillers)

Ex-CIA assassin Bob Singleton is in Memphis when his past catches up with him – a former Russian operative, Alexi, recognizes Bob from the old days. Now a gangster, Alexi needs an elite killer to take out a rival and he knows he won’t find better than Bob. Alexi kidnaps a friend of Bob’s and makes him an offer he can’t refuse – you’ll see your friend again if you kill my enemy, Victor. Bob has no choice but to play for time and accept the job. Problem is, Victor is not an easy target. An eminent Russian mobster, he is well protected by a ruthless gang who will kill anyone who looks sideways at their boss. He’s also the target of a high-level FBI investigation and the Feds need Victor to keep on breathing. As the war between Alexi and Victor turns explosive, Bob finds himself caught in the middle, taking on what seems like the entire Russian mafia. He’ll need every one of his lethal skills if he is to stay alive and save his friend. The city on the Mississippi is hot as hell in summer… and it’s about to get a whole lot hotter.
