Drowned Secrets (Jake Cashen Crime Thriller Series)

When a fisherman hauls a waterlogged backpack from the lake, it holds secrets someone killed to protect. And the name written inside hits Detective Jake Cashen like a punch to the gut. The victim left a letter addressed to Jake. Most of the words have been washed away, but what remains offers tantalizing clues about a secret the victim had uncovered—and a warning she never got the chance to deliver. She was once there for Jake in his darkest hour. He’ll never forgive himself for failing to be there for hers. Jake's search leads him to an exclusive resort nestled deep in the hills and a disturbing secret behind its polished facade. Something sinister has been hiding in plain sight. Everyone who works there has something to fear—and something to hide. The deeper Jake digs, the harder it becomes to tell the victims from the suspects. What began as one woman's secret investigation is about to expose something much bigger. Someone killed to keep the truth from coming out. Now Jake is asking the same questions—and getting dangerously close to the answers. She died hoping Jake would save her and knowing he never came.
