Evelyn Allen has left the chat

"The story follows Evelyn Allen, a young mother who finds herself overwhelmed when her husband, Russ, is deemed an essential worker by his billionaire boss and she is left to care for their two young children. Alone and frustrated by Russ's lack of support, she joins a group chat for mothers in the area called HOMEBOUND MOMS. She finds a community of like-minded women, even venturing out for a masked outdoor dinner with her new friend Emily Santman. It's there that she learns Ariana, another member of the chat, has gone missing. While the entire town is rocked by what appears to be a horrible crime, Evelyn begins to toy with a different theory. What if Ariana, too, was struggling with the invisible labor of being a wife and mother? Evelyn can't help but reflect on her own life and marriage, and a series of flashbacks reveal the myriad ways Russ has chipped away at her autonomy over the course of their relationship. The idea of leaving and starting over somewhere new has a certain appeal. What if Ariana wasn't kidnapped or attacked, but left of her own volition?
