Flickering Lights A Memoir of Rebuilding A Shattered Past

"I was abused. But I'm not that broken, scared little girl anymore." One in three women are sexually assaulted before their eighteenth birthday. Sky Boschen is part of that statistic-but she refuses to be reduced to it. In this powerful memoir, she shares her story with unflinching honesty: the childhood abuse no one stopped, the systems that failed her, and the long, painful journey of healing that followed. More than a personal account, Flickering Lights: A Memoir of Rebuilding a Shattered Past is a call to every survivor who has felt unseen, unheard, or disbelieved. Sky confronts the myth of the "perfect victim" and shows that healing doesn't look one way. It's messy, nonlinear, and deeply human. Her story moves through trauma, grief, addiction, advocacy, and hope-with moments of sharp clarity, heartbreak, and resilience. This is a memoir for anyone impacted by abuse, mental health struggles, or the weight of survival. Sky's message is clear: you are not alone. You don't have to be perfect to deserve support. And your voice-your story-matters.
