Most students prefer writing essays over answering multiple-choice questions. While multiple-choice can be tricky with fixed answers, essays offer a chance for self-expression, deeper analysis, and a showcase of knowledge. Indeed, there is a golden opportunity to impress the examiners and achieve the best results. What worries students, however, is the pressure of writing essays after essays in an exam. Writing a single essay can be a daunting process and can sometimes lead to anxiety. Now imagine writing three or four essays under exam conditions—in silence, within a time limit, without any reference material, without any form of technological devices, and in a room full of other students. Sounds stressful, right? Fortunately, essay writing is a skill that can be improved with various strategies over time. Amazingly, many students are familiar with the content of the syllabus. They know the terms, concepts, theories, principles, events, and factors leading to certain crucial events, incidents, or developments. The challenge, however, lies in organising this information logically and coherently in an essay.
