Halloween's Haunt (Larry Macklin Mysteries)

Criminal investigator Larry Macklin’s October gets off to a bloody start when he finds a mangled body in the middle of a haunted hayride. At first, it appears Korbyn Beck’s death is just a dreadful accident… that is, until Larry meets the young man’s parents, who make the strange decision to fly to Spain two days later. Despite the alarm bells going off in his head, Larry pushes Beck’s death to the back burner as he helps his fellow investigators with a possible domestic violence case where the victim isn’t talking, and a pesky string of high-end burglaries that refuse to be solved. Soon, the three cases become tangled together in surprising ways, culminating in a high-stakes showdown at a Halloween party hosted by Larry’s crazy mother-in-law, where Larry is forced to choose between doing the right thing… and doing what’s right for his family.
