Memoirs From Limbo

By Nadle, Jason

First published 2026

Your world cast you aside like the empty casings from your rifle. Today is the first day of 'freedom.' Unwanted, but here it is. Jake Sixx, retired Air Force Pararescue sits on his porch contemplating his new life in the mountains of North Carolina. His interest was piqued when a Lincoln pulls up his driveway. Nothing that nice has any business being this far out in the sticks... Sarah Steel, the owner and operator of the Defense Contractor, Steel Roses, approaches with a proposition. She also has way too much controlled information about his past and a fully detailed mission report on that one wild night that he had tried to dismiss as a bad dream. The unexplainable experiences he has been having off and on for the last two years were actually Limbo, a space between our world and another controlled by monsters. No one could explain how or why someone was susceptible to Limbo, but Sarah needed his skills to fight the threat. He, no matter how much he didn't want to admit it, needed a new purpose. Always remember, however, that the night is darkest just before the dawn.
