Oath & Shadow A Fantasy Epic

Like every good mercenary, Kevlin knows only one thing about magic. Avoid it at all costs. So when he stumbles right into a deadly magical duel between mighty Sentinels in a remote wilderness, he should run the other way. The grievously wounded Sentinel is the famous Antigonus, who holds the Oris, the key to the empire's magical defenses. If he dies, the empire will be plunged into a war they won't survive. That oath catapults Kevlin into a fast-action adventure, filled with soul-stealing sorcerers, deadly monsters, and devious gods, all hungry for the Oris. Even the powerful allies he finds have murky agendas and conflicting loyalties that might get him killed before the enemy can finish him off.
