Riders of Flame: Book Two (RIDERS of FLAME: A YA Dragon Rider Fantasy)

Rowan Ashfell thought the hardest part was keeping Kaelthar alive. After the dragon's first rise into the sky, whispers spread throughout Aryndale. Riders talk. Stablemasters watch. And Commander Varek's suspicions only deepen. Varek believes Kaelthar is dangerous. Perhaps even something far worse. Unable to destroy the dragon without cause, the commander issues a challenge instead: prove Kaelthar belongs among Aryndale's dragons—or lose the sky forever. If Kaelthar succeeds, he will earn a place in the upper yard, where Rowan can finally fly openly beside the kingdom's riders. If he fails, the dragon will be grounded permanently, and everything Rowan fought to protect may be taken away. With Eldric's guidance and Taryn's help, Rowan must prepare for the most important test of his life. And when the entire kingdom is watching, one flight can change everything. A clean YA dragon rider fantasy filled with soaring adventure, high-stakes trials, unforgettable dragons, and the powerful bond between a boy and the dragon who refuses to give up.
