Shadows Past: An Action-Adventure Thriller Where Secrets Never Stay Buried (The Gus Harper K9 Thrillers)

A buried truth. A brutal conspiracy. One man and his dog caught in a fight that never really ended. Gus Harper, a military veteran, wants nothing more than quiet days and open waters—just him, his boat, and Arty, his fiercely loyal retired war dog, who needed a home as badly as he did. But when a whistleblower reveals that the death of Sylvie Santoro’s husband wasn’t an accident — but part of a conspiracy stretching back years — Gus and his allies are drawn into a world where justice has a body count. A billion euros of dirty money is being washed through a construction project on Malta’s Manoel Island — a place soaked in history, treachery and corruption. The ruthless global consortium behind it will do anything to protect their prize: intimidate, bribe, and murder. With time running out, Gus reunites his unlikely team — a Vatican Cardinal, a former Navy SEAL, and a Polish handyman with secrets of his own.
