The Asteroid Heist: A Science Fiction Crime Novel (Wounded Galaxy Series)

That’s what Jake Pool is after. He’s been across known space, pulling jobs on a thousand worlds. Mixing with dangerous thugs and murderous aliens. Always two steps ahead of the law. But it’s never enough. There’s only one problem. The job is in deep space. Nowhere to run. Nowhere to hide if things go sideways. One mistake, and he’s dead. He gathers a crack team of twelve-fingered codebreakers, cloned pirate spacers, and reptilian mercenaries. They train and train until every move is burned into their brains, every possible problem accounted for. Soon, they have it down. They’re ready. Nothing can go wrong. The Asteroid Heist is a crime science fiction novel about desperate beings willing to take the ultimate risks. It’s a violent place, where a single laser blast can change the fate of millions. The story asks a fundamental question: How much, and who, are you willing to sacrifice to get what you want? A: Like most authors, it all began when I was a teenager. I was drawn to thrillers with alien invasions, futuristic technology, and interstellar conflict. Then I read 1984 by George Orwell, a dystopian story of love, survival, and rebellion in a world perpetually at war.
