The Cardinal's Sin: A high-stakes Vatican thriller (Cal Harrison Thrillers)

A NEW POPE. A MURDER IN THE VATICAN. A DARK SECRET ON A TROPICAL ISLAND. Newbie journalist Sofie James is tipped off about a scandal in the Catholic Church, set to be revealed soon after a new Pope is elected; something so explosive that it reaches to the very heart of the Vatican. But before she can get to the truth, a whistleblower is murdered, and Sofie is left with just one half of a tantalising puzzle. Calling on the help of her former collaborator, ex-Special Forces Cal Harrison, her investigation takes her on a roller-coaster ride from London to Rome to Portugal, finally landing on the sun-kissed shores of the Caribbean, where a mysterious Catholic order 'saves souls' on a remote tropical island. Shockingly, Cal finds out that, many years earlier and unbeknownst to him, this secretive paradise helped shape his own life. Protected by one of the most senior Cardinals in the Vatican - the ‘Sostituto’, the Pope’s Chief of Staff - and financed by the Chinese, Opus Christi shelters a dark secret. Can Sofie and Cal expose it before they, like those before them, are silenced by the brutal forces ranged against them?
