First published 2026
Beginning in 1962 Robert Cabot Sherman Jr. of Van Nuys, California began trying to melt the hearts of 1960's youth under the name of Bobby Sherman. With singles like "Goody Galum-Shus" b/w "Anything Your Little Heart Desires" and "Judy, You'll Never Know (I'll Never Tell You)" b/w "The Telegram" he set out. However, it wasn't until the 1965 single "It Hurts Me" b/w "Give Me Your Word" which reached # 118 on Billboard's Bubbling Under chart before he made any inroads and the 1969 single "Little Woman" b/w "One Too Many Mornings" which shot up to # 3 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart before he reached his destination. "Little Woman" earned Bobby a Gold record for sales of over 1,000,000 copies. Over the next three years Bobby enjoyed a number of chart topping singles such as, "La La La (If I Had You)" b/w "Time" which reached # 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, "Easy Come, Easy Go" b/w "Sounds Along the Way" # 9 Billboard Hot 100, "Julie, Do Ya Love Me" b/w "Spend Some Time Lovin' Me" # 5 Billboard Hot 100.
