When the king of the land without rain dreams of water falling from the sky, does he not have the duty to find out how to save his land from the smothering heat? Instead of standing outside in the cool trickling water, he finds himself in his stifling hot bedroom. Is there really such a place, with a gray sky and water falling out of it, just like that? In abundance? As he prepares to leave in search of rain, his people beg him to stay. Does one know for sure that the hot desert ends somewhere, and that those cold rain countries are real? Secretly, the king agrees with them. He shares their fears and feels sorry for himself with all his heart. But he cannot just stay at home and forget about the rain. After all, he is their king.
