Westward Courage Historical Women's Fiction Saga

An epic, heartfelt saga of hope and resilience, Westward Courage follows a New York socialite struggling to adapt to the sacrifices of life on the Oregon Trail. 1850, Independence, Missouri: At twenty years old, Caroline Harper has everything she could want-wealth, position, the attention of an eligible bachelor. When her brother's news destroys all of that and everything is lost, Caroline must decide what kind of life she wants. As the Harpers make their way along the grueling thousands of miles of Oregon Trail, over sweeping plains and through dangerous rivers, Caroline learns what real sacrifice can be. None of her clothes are right for the elements, snakes and natives threaten at every turn, and she has no idea how to cook over a campfire. But mile after mile west, through new friendships, and a new love, Caroline discovers strength, poise and potential she didn't know she possessed. Strength that perhaps was not in that spoiled city girl at all. But will it be enough to survive and bring Caroline and her brother all the way to Oregon? All the books in the Courage on the Oregon Trail series take place within the same wagon company's trip west and run concurrently.
