Where the Shadows Begin: A Romantic Suspense Thriller with a Former Air Force Pilot and Forced-Proximity Romance set in the Cascade Mountains (Mercy Ridge)

Sloane Andrews has one goal: Find her estranged father, Gareth Andrews, before her sister runs out of time for a kidney transplant from the only viable donor. When Sloane hitches a ride with former Air Force pilot Holt Goodwin, she expects a difficult reunion with her father. She doesn't expect a plane crash in the northern Cascades--or the lethal danger surrounding the man she's desperate to find. Holt Goodwin is on administrative leave from his job as a federal agent and has reasons of his own for finding Gareth. When his Cessna goes down in the wilderness, survival becomes his priority. But as enemies emerge from the shadows, Holt realizes the mission is far more dangerous than locating one missing man--a man whose recklessness caused his own father's death. With a stolen journal containing catastrophic secrets and a ruthless enemy hunting them, Sloane and Holt must fight their way out of the mountains and trust each other with truths neither wants to share. But deep in the wilderness, not everyone may make it out alive. USA Today bestselling author Elizabeth Goddard constructs a twisty plot with a rush of adrenaline in this romantic suspense thriller.
