Tonho and Caetana ask to leave the sugar mill, and Casemiro announces that it is Mirinho who must leave the house. Casemiro kicks Mirinho out, and Graça is distraught. Caetana decides to leave the mill and move to Tonho's land. Mirinho asks Manoel and Fortunato for shelter. José suspects that the robbery he suffered might also have been orchestrated by Mirinho.
