The miniseries portrays the greed for money, power and prestige through the rise and fall of Alex Torres, a consequence of the schemes of the unscrupulous banker Frederico Scorza.

1Episode 1Alex receives an unusual proposal from Frederico. Frederico and Paula exchange barbs. Sérgio is suspicious of his father's intentions. Elvira causes discomfort at Alice's dinner.
2Episode 2Alex is kidnapped. Frederico questions his children and brothers about Alex's disappearance. Sérgio makes a serious accusation against Frederico. Alice receives a letter with a revelation.
