There's the patter of tiny feet as David and Karen re-discover the joys of parenthood. To help out, Karen's mother flies in from Spain to offer assistance — with a bottle of gin in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Adam and Rachel are now happily living together after a passionate reconciliation.

1Episode 1David and Karen have twins, and Adam and Rachel want children. Pete has to move in with Jenny, who has met a millionaire.
2Episode 2Pete has to find somewhere to live. Jenny is sacked by her employment agency. Rachel and Adam are ecstatic when Rachel's period is two weeks late.
3Episode 3Rachel and Adam undergo their first treatment. David and Jessica go for a drink and feel a mutual attraction.
4Episode 4Pete kisses Ramona, Jenny takes a chance on Robert, and Rachel is told she is unable to have children.
5Episode 5Jenny and Karen fall out briefly after trying to work together. Adam and Rachel announce their engagement.
6Episode 6Adam meets his first love while on his stag weekend. Pete discovers that David has been unfaithful.
7Episode 7Rachel and Adam have very different ideas about how their wedding should be. Pete asks Jenny for a divorce.
