After Vashishtha teaches that true might lies in both strength and intelligence, Maricha and Subahu plot to weaken Ram by attacking his brothers, friends, and animals. They enchant forest objects to strike each child separately, but Ram applies his teacher's lesson and defeats the demons with both skill and strategy.
