1Making FacesMarge warns Bart, Lisa and Maggie that if they make scary faces they will freeze that way forever. The kids ignore her until Marge scares them with a mirror, pretending their faces have actually frozen.
2The FuneralThe family attends the funeral of Uncle Hubert. Bart proves so disruptive that Homer swears never to take the kids to another funeral. First segment to feature characters outside the Simpson family.
3Maggie's BrainBart and Lisa wonder what goes on inside Maggie's mind. In her imagination she is a giant, tickling baby-sized versions of her siblings.
4FootballHomer promises the kids chocolate milkshakes if Bart can catch one of his long passes. Bart finally catches it with his mouth, but then cannot drink his reward.
5House of CardsBart tries to build a house of cards, but Lisa and Maggie keep making noises that knock it down every time.
6Bart and Dad Eat DinnerMarge takes the girls to the ballet, leaving Homer in charge of dinner. Bart cannot stomach the mix of fish nuggets and pork-a-roni he is forced to eat.
7Space PatrolBart, Lisa and Maggie play a game of Space Patrol while their parents are out. Bart gets his head stuck in a jug and Lisa frees him with a croquet mallet.
8Bart's HaircutThe barber shaves Bart's head completely. He tries to hide it with glue, his old hair and a paper bag, but the family cannot keep from laughing when they see him.
9World War IIIHomer wakes the family in the middle of the night claiming World War III has begun, to test their readiness. After several drills, the exhausted family tricks him into the shelter and locks him in.
10The Perfect CrimeWhen Marge bakes a batch of chocolate chip cookies, Bart becomes obsessed with stealing them all without being caught. A trail of crumbs leads his parents straight to him.
11Scary StoriesBart tells Lisa and Maggie a series of stories in the dark, only to start believing they are coming true. All three scream when Homer and Marge walk in.
12Grandpa and the KidsGrampa tells the kids stories from his heyday. When they stop listening, he fakes his own death to recapture their attention. First appearance of Grampa Simpson.
13Gone Fishin'Bart and Homer go on a fishing trip. Bart forgot the baloney for the sandwiches and uses the bait instead. Once on the water they hit the rapids and go over a waterfall.
14SkateboardingBart teaches his sisters how to skateboard, but they outdo him every time he tries to show off.
15The PagansOn the way to church the kids declare themselves pagans. When the car breaks down they start acting like them, and an enraged Homer chases them into a church.
16The ClosetFearing chores, Bart hides in a closet and accidentally locks himself in. He finally breaks the door down, only to find a note saying the family left for milkshakes.
17The AquariumHomer takes the kids to the aquarium. Bart finds his way into the shark tank and refuses to come out, claiming it is safer than facing his father.
18Family PortraitHomer struggles to take a decent family photo. Every time they come close to a good shot, the family sabotages it. First appearance of Homer grabbing Bart with "Why you little...".
19Bart's HiccupsLisa and Maggie try to cure Bart's hiccups using rather unorthodox methods.
20The Money JarMarge warns the kids not to steal from the money jar. Bart's conscience encourages him to help himself, only to find the jar holds a single dollar.
21The Art MuseumThe Simpsons visit an art museum. Bart and Lisa fail to appreciate the art, and Bart decides to become a collector by stealing a piece. First time Bart says "Ay, caramba!" and "Don't have a cow, man."
22Zoo StoryHomer mocks a family of chimpanzees at the zoo without noticing how much they resemble his own. On the ride home they discover Bart has swapped places with his simian lookalike.
