Both clubs broke their transfer records over the summer in an attempt to bridge the gap at the top of the table. Everton and Wolves finished as the best of the rest outside the top six last season and have also spent heavily over the summer. Wolves won 3-1 at Goodison Park in the New Year, although the headlines went to a black cat on the pitch which held up play for several minutes. There’s also a round-up of all the goals from Saturday’s eight games.

In today’s other contest, Watford hosted Arsenal having beaten the Gunners just once at home since 1987.

11MOTD2 - 3rd November 2019Mark Chapman presents highlights of today's two fixtures from the Premier League as Crystal Palace host Leicester and Tottenham travel to play Everton at Goodison Park. Brendan Rodgers's Leicester side have started the season in superb form as they attempt to break the stranglehold of the established big six teams and qualify for the Champions League. They take on a Palace team that have posted some impressive results of their own. Tottenham and Everton, on the other hand, have both endured wretched starts to the campaign and will be looking to find some form to ignite their seasons. There will also be a round-up of the goals from the eight Premier League games to have already taken place this weekend.
12MOTD2 - 10th November 2019Highlights from today’s three Premier League games, including the mouthwatering clash between title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield. Last season Liverpool were crowned champions of Europe but narrowly missed out on a first league title since 1990. They ended second to City despite an incredible haul of 97 points – the third highest in top-flight history. The only game the Merseysiders lost came against Pep Guardiola’s side, so victory at Anfield would be a huge step towards a first Premier League title for them. Elsewhere, Wolves and Aston Villa lock horns at Molineux, while Manchester United host Brighton at Old Trafford. There is also analysis of the goals and incidents from the rest of the weekend’s matches, presented by Mark Chapman.

Unai Emery’s Arsenal side have had a mixed start to the season and have struggled in recent seasons against the big teams. In the day’s other matches, Tottenham face a tricky trip to Molineux to take on Wolves, who have proven hard to beat this campaign, while Manchester United host Everton at Old Trafford.
17MOTD2 - 22nd December 2019Mark Chapman presents highlights from the day’s two Premier League games, with Tottenham taking on London rivals Chelsea and Watford hosting Manchester United. Spurs’ slow start to the season saw them sack Mauricio Pochettino in November. He was replaced by former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, who now comes face to face with Frank Lampard – once one of his key players at Stamford Bridge and now the Blues head coach. Relegation-threatened Watford, meanwhile, hopes to cause an upset as they take on an inconsistent Manchester United side at Vicarage Road. There is also analysis of the goals and incidents from the rest of the weekend’s matches.

The London derby at the Emirates sees Arsenal and Chelsea clash for the first time since May's Europa League final, which the Blues won 4-1. Wolves have already won away to Man City this season and will be hopeful of claiming another famous scalp as they take on Liverpool at Anfield. City, meanwhile, will need to be wary against a Sheffield United side who have caught many opponents by surprise since winning promotion. There is also analysis of the goals and incidents from the rest of the weekend's matches, presented by Mark Chapman.
19MOTD2 - 12th January 2020Mark Chapman presents highlights of today’s two crucial fixtures from the Premier League, including Aston Villa’s game against defending champions Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side will be desperate to earn all three points at Villa Park given their stuttering start to the 2019-20 season. They’ll head to Birmingham confident, however, given that they are unbeaten in their last seven games against Villa. 20MOTD2 - 19th January 2020Join Mark Chapman and guests as they analyse today’s Premier League matches, including title-chasing Liverpool’s blockbuster clash with Manchester United at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s team are bidding for a first league title in the Premier League era and will want three points against their arch-rivals. Liverpool’s triumph in this encounter last season was a first league win at home against United for five years. In today’s other fixture, Leicester City were aiming to keep pace at the top of the table when they travelled to Burnley.
21MOTD2 - 2nd February 2020Reshmin Chowdhury presents highlights of the day’s two fixtures from the Premier League, with Manchester City travelling to Tottenham and Burnley hosting Arsenal. Pep Guardiola’s City side have beaten Tottenham in five of their past seven encounters but it was Spurs who famously emerged victorious on away goals in last season’s Champions League quarter-final. August’s reverse league fixture ended in a 2-2 draw with Tottenham twice coming from behind to rescue a point. The day’s other fixture sees Arsenal travel to Burnley looking to preserve their fine record against the Clarets, having won each of their past 11 matches in all competitions. There is also a round-up of the goals from the weekend's other eight Premier League games.
22MOTD2 - 9th February 2020Mark Chapman presents highlights of today’s Premier League fixture as Sheffield United host Bournemouth. Sheffield United’s first game back in the Premier League for 12 years ended with a 1-1 draw away at Bournemouth, but since then both clubs have had vastly differing seasons. Chris Wilder’s Blades have been the surprise package of the season while Eddie Howe’s Cherries are struggling near the foot of the table.
23MOTD2 - 16th February 2020Highlights of today’s two Premier League matches. Aston Villa host Tottenham, while Arsenal are in action against Newcastle. Tottenham came from behind to beat Villa 3-1 on the opening weekend, but inconsistent form during the autumn eventually saw manager Mauricio Pochettino replaced by Jose Mourinho. If Mourinho is to guide Spurs to European qualification, they may need to beat a Villa side who have spent most of the season battling relegation. It’s a similar story for Arsenal, who sacked head coach Unai Emery in November, replacing him with Mikel Arteta. His team will need to be wary against a Newcastle side who have already beaten Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs this season. There is also analysis of the goals and incidents from the rest of the weekend’s matches.

Everton have had only two European campaigns in the past decade but are in contention for another after improving under three-time Champions League-winning manager Carlo Ancelotti. On Sunday, they host fellow top-six contenders Manchester United, who continue to struggle for consistency under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The other fixture pits Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho against his former Porto goalkeeper Nuno Espirito Santo, now in his third season in charge of Wolves. Spurs won the reverse fixture in December courtesy of Jan Vertonghen’s stoppage-time header.
26MOTD2 - 8th March 2020Mark Chapman presents highlights of today’s two fixtures from the Premier League, which includes the Manchester derby as United host Pep Guardiola’s City at Old Trafford. The clubs also met in the League Cup, with City emerging 3-2 aggregate winners over the two ties. The day’s other fixture saw Carlo Ancelotti take his Everton side to former club Chelsea. The Italian boss won the Premier League and FA Cup double with Chelsea in 2009-10. Jurgen Klopp's Reds were looking to record their third consecutive victory in all competitions against their bitter rivals, and the omens looked good with the Toffees' last triumph coming way back in October 2010.
