Vashishtha's lesson on kindness inspires Ram to care for all living beings. After accidentally harming plants and an anthill, he restores them, reminding his friends of their teacher's words. Maricha and Subahu exploit his compassion by posing as a cow and calf, but Ram skillfully subdues them without harm once they reveal their true forms.
